Seniors have been learning all about birds in winter. They learned that during the colder months all the natural food sources such as fruit, berries, nuts and seeds are depleted so birds have a harder time finding food. The children decided it would be a nice idea to help out the birdies at school by making them some handmade bird feeders. They made the feeders by stringing cheerios onto pipe cleaners and shaping them into hearts, circles and swirls. We hung them on the trees and came back the next day to find lots of the cheerios pecked off.
