During the last term, our 5th and 6th class pupils participated in the Say Yes to Languages Programme, where they enjoyed weekly French lessons as a taster experience. The programme helped to raise awareness of the importance of modern foreign language education in developing valuable skills such as communication, collaboration, confidence and cultural awareness.
It also supported preparation for the implementation of the Primary Language Curriculum by providing pupils with an early and positive experience of language learning. Through engaging and interactive activities, the programme encouraged enthusiasm and interest in languages and aimed to promote greater uptake of language learning at post-primary level.
