In October we visited the courthouse on Washington St. where we were kindly welcomed by Mary-Clare Kearney and David Power. We were given tour of the building including the cells and the courtrooms.

We were amazed to learn about the history of the Courthouse from when it was built in 1836 costing only £20,000 until the present day, including it's most recent refurbishment in 2005 that cost almost €26 million.

We got the chance to try on the barrister's outfit, complete with horse hair wig, sit in the cells, take the judge's chair and be sworn in in court.

It was a great experience and we were delighted to find out all about the Courthouse and how it works.
