Dream Catchers

In history we are learning all about the Native Americans. As part of this topic we looked at some Native American dream catchers. Native Americans believe that the dream catchers trap and bad dreams helping them to sleep peacefully. You can read more about the origin of the dream catcher here
Today in Art we tried to make some of our own dream catchers. We created the hoop shape from supple branch. Then we covered the branch in wool to decorate it. Next we wove a 'web' through the centre adding some beads to embellish it. Lastly we hung some strings, with feathers and beads, from the hoop.

We hope they will catch all of our bad reams and help us to sleep soundly, just like the Native Americans.
