Aistear at the Doctor's.

Before the Easter break we were busy learning all about the doctor's job and how to stay healthy. We had a visit from Helen O'Sullivan who told us all about her job as a public health nurse, and she kindly left us some props for our role-play area. We set up a doctor's surgery in the role-play area where we saw lots of patients with different ailments varying from broken legs to pregnancy!!! Our doctors were very competent though and dealt with all of their patients thoroughly and efficiently. We had lots of fun building hospitals in our junk art and construction stations, and we made playdough patients as well.
We learned all about health and hygiene too. We learned a handwashing song and practiced washing and drying our hands properly. We put all of our knowledge on healthy living into practice by designing posters to promote health and hygiene.
