Just a quick update on the fantastic Goggins Hill school choir. The interest in the choir this year has been amazing! The children have been working very hard in preparation for the PEACE PROM 2017 where they will sing along with approx 2000 children, a full orchestra and a number of soloists in the RDS on Saturday the 4th of February 2017. The commitment from the children to learn the songs and the actions has really paid off. We had our rehearsal in Swords this month  and Goggins Hill choir took center stage! Positioned right up the front Goggins Hill did an amazing job leading the actions for all  the PEACE PROM songs. The choir are fantastic ambassadors for the school !

Niamh Quain from the Simon Community came to visit Goggins Hill school this month. She spoke in depth about the great work that Simon are doing to deal with homelessness in Cork.   We proudly presented her with five hundred euro which we collected during our Christmas Jumper day. Thank you all for your generosity!

After the overwhelming success of both the collection for the Simon Community and the Christmas jumper day it is clear that the Christmas spirit is alive and well in Goggins Hill. Our student council elves have been busy sorting and packaging your lovely donations which will be fast tracked to the Simon Community shelter in Cork City. We have no doubt that these generous donations will add a bit of warmth and Christmas sparkle to the residents of the shelter and the rough sleepers of Cork city. The first count of the money collected from our Christmas jumper day reveals a whopping €466.40.   Thank you to all who took part.  We hope you enjoy a behind the scenes look at our elves at work this week. Merry Christmas to you and yours and the happiest of New Years!
