Updates for May and June

Thursday, 30th May; first meeting of the School Development Committee
There was an overwhelming response by parents to our request for volunteers to join the committee. Sincere thanks to all those who offered their services
 Friday 31st May and Friday 28th of June; No uniform days in aid of the School Development Fund, the suggested contribution is €1 per child.
Friday 31st May; athletics training for all classes
Friday 31st May; A Friendly chess tournament with take place in Goggins Hill with 8 participants from Ballinora attending to compete with 8 pupils from Goggins Hill.
The communion Class Photo is available to view/ purchase in the office at a cost of €10
The school will remain closed next week from 1st – 9th of June inclusive, school will reopen on Monday 10th of June.
Thursday 13th of June; Vintage to New fun Girl’s night out will take place in Goggins Hill N.S. in aid of the School Development Fund. Donations of clothes for this event ca be dropped to the school office or by contacting Maura or Adrienne. For contact details and further information please refer to the attached poster.
Friday, 14th of June; School tours will take place for all classes.
Juniors – 5th Classes school tour will take place on Friday 14th June. The Mardyke Arena is our destination this year. The cost of the tour for Junior and Senior Infants is €17 per child. The cost for 1st to 5th class will be €21 as they will be in the Mardyke for 2 extra hours. The Children can wear tracksuit on the day and please make sure that each child has a jacket and runners.  All classes will be taking part in a water based activity so a towel, swimsuits, swim hat etc. need to be packed. Pool activities will take place in the shallow area and children will be well monitored. Please supply a picnic lunch and drink. There will be three groups going on the day. Infants, 1st and 2nd, 3rd - 5th.  Normal school hours will apply.
Children in 6th class are encouraged to pay for their own school tour. This year they will be attending the Ballyhass Lakes Activity Centre near Mallow. The cost of this tour is €40 per child. Activities will include kayaking, orienteering and other activities. They will call to McDonalds on the way home for food.
Monday, 17th of June; Fun for all Sports Day will take place, weather permitting
Tuesday, 25th of June; Goggins Hill NS On Stage in the Marian Hall at 7.30pm – all classes will be performing
Friday 28th of June; last day of term, school will close at 1pm for Summer Holidays, no uniform day.
